That the death of a band member does not always mean the end of a band is proven by Dave Grohl with the Foo Fighters. After the singer of Nirvana Kurt Cobain died at the age of 27, her former drummer Grohl founded his new band the Foo Fighters. After recording the first album completely on his own, he brought in reinforcements for the following performances. For this purpose, he swapped his place behind the drums for guitar and microphone. At the beginning they had a hard time getting a foothold in the scene, as they were still somewhat in the shadow of Dave Grohl's old band. It seemed as if the music business was not yet ready for a classic rock band that would stand out from all the glamour and polished stars of the time. But success proved them right, because over time the Foo Fighters worked their way up to become one of the biggest rock bands. 

Rock regardless of losses

For more than two decades they have regularly provided us with hits like "Everlong", "My Hero", "Best of you" or "The Pretender". Nothing seems to stop the band... not even a broken leg. Because after Dave Grohl fell off the stage during a concert in 2015 and broke his leg, he finished the concert after a short interruption with a plastered leg and a doctor on stage. He played the rest of the tour in a motorised throne specially made for him. You can't get more rock, can you?!
