In Flames took off straight away. Although they didn't have a fixed line-up at the beginning of their band history and recorded their first album on their own, their second release "The Jester Race" has already established itself as a classic of Melodic Death Metal. More successful albums and tours followed, which made the hard-working Swedes famous outside their homeland. One of the highlights of their career is certainly the sold-out concert in Tokyo, which was filmed and then released on DVD.

Their mascot Jesterhead is always present. The permanent companion is not only represented on countless merch articles, but can also be found in some album covers.

No time for standstill

Standstill was never an option for In Flames. Because despite their reputation as one of the most important melodic death metal bands, they don't rest on this cult status, but constantly work on their sound. Even though this means that they are moving further and further away from their original Melodic Death Metal roots, they still keep their finger on the pulse. To this day, however, they remain true to their trademark use of two lead guitars and still make sure that you can recognize an In Flames song within a few seconds.

30 years in the game and still on top of the game 

In their latest works, the band combines all the creative influences of the members and returns with the typical catchy tunes you know from their early days. Melodic, rhythmic parts alternate with fast aggressive screams and hard riffs. It seems as if the band hasn't aged a day in the last 30 years, because they still sound as hungry as on the first day.
