Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen in warm and soft
Pirate Merch for small bilge rats
Mr. Hurley & Die Affenbande take their audience on an a(rrrr!)acoustic treasure hunt in the depths of the Caribbean at the time of Blackbeard, Guybrush Threepwood, Captain Morgan & Co. They appear in elaborate pirate costumes and armed with guitar, accordion, flutes, drums and three vocal voices, which oscillate somewhere between Disney film and Motörhead. Above all, the programme of the surprisingly musical buccaneers is dominated by their folk-danceable and humorous original composition in German, which is complemented by traditional seafaring songs from Irish folk and shanties. This adventurous mixture blurs into the unique style that the powder monkeys have christened "Grog'n'Roll".
Grog'n'Roll at its best
In their songs, which have charming titles such as "Plankentanz" or "Küss mich, ich hab' Skorbut" (Kiss me, I have scurvy), they tell of the hard life at sea, of riches that have already been raised and those yet to be discovered, of light girls and daring pirate brides and, last but not least, of rampant drinking bouts - songs that make even the smallest pirates roar along.
Ach Ja!? Komma her!
