In sunny California, Papa Roach's four high school friends got together in 1993. Driven by the sound of early 90s crossover bands, they started writing their own music and organizing concerts. In doing so, they were able to benefit especially from the support of local radio stations, which recognized the young musicians' talent at an early age. This enabled them to play as a support act for bands like Deftones even before their first album, thus expanding their popularity beyond their home town. After they had to find a replacement for their bassist, who preferred to spend his time in the summer camp of the local church rather than in the band, they were able to concentrate fully on the music. Their first album "Old Friend From Young Years" was played up and down the local radio stations.
Papa Roach - from 0 to 1000000
Their big breakthrough came with the album "Infest". The single "Last Resort" became the band's biggest hit and the anthem of an entire generation. Twenty years later, this song is still a must at every party! Grammy nominations and MTV Video Music Awards followed - the band had a real boom. And they did everything they could to make sure it didn't stop, because instead of resting on their success and enjoying the moment, the guys continued to work constantly and, in addition to successful tours around the world, continued to release new music. In this way, they have managed to survive some tough times and are still playing at the top of the charts twenty years after their first big success.
