Sabaton Merchandise for every little power metalheads
The success story of Sabaton began in the legendary Absyss Studios in Sweden. There they recorded their first demo, which was limited to only 600 cds and sold out within a very short time. Initially sold on their own, the success also attracted the attention of the first labels. While writing their first album, the idea of thematically dealing with the wars of modern times came up. The band's aim is not to glorify the events, but to portray the cruel reality. Thematically, they jump through the different ages and deal with the Vietnam War, battles in the Middle Ages or the distant sci-fi future.
Sabaton the Great War
They not only deal with it in their texts, but also incorporate it into their stage design. Besides plenty of pyro-effects, the tube of a big tank is protruding in the middle of the stage, behind which the drum set of drummer Hannes van Dahl is projecting.
Already the first album of the band "Primo Victoria" is a complete success and climbs to number one in the charts in their home country Sweden. Since then, the band's triumphal procession has constantly picked up speed and each album has been more successful than its predecessor. Between releases Sabaton almost always tour through world history.
Meanwhile the band even has its own YouTube channel on which they publish mini-documentaries together with a historian about the historical events covered in their songs. But their fan service goes even further: after years of wishing that the band would deal with the history of the battleship "Bismarck", they took up the subject in a way that was appropriate for their 20th anniversary.
